Mission Statement for Little Stars

"To relieve the needs of abandoned, orphaned, disabled and disadvantaged children in Luxor".

The mission of the Little Stars – Luxor Children’s Trust Fund is to give assistance to abandoned, orphaned, disabled and disadvantaged children in Luxor regardless of their religion, gender or ethnic background. To fulfil this mission the Trustees and Volunteers will identify children’s needs and fulfil them to the best of their ability and the limit of the Trust’s funds.

It is not the aim of Little Stars to open orphanages and care homes of their own. The aim is to offer support to those that already exist and improve the facilities and medical care that they offer. Children in need who are still in the care of their families will also be assisted where necessary. In this way the plight of many disadvantaged children can be relieved and the prospect of their having a healthy and prosperous future greatly enhanced.

A winged Isis was chosen as the Little Stars mascot because by legend she is the protector of children. If asked to protect children she will hold them in her arms and enfold them in her wings of love and peace. The aim of Little Stars is to protect all children in that way.
